Editorial policy
We use the following rules to keep the sourcing, interpretation, and status of facility and travel-planning information transparent.

Source priority
We prioritize official facility websites, official travel or temporary dialysis guidance, and official contact information. Reliable public information from local authorities or medical organizations may be used as a supporting source.
- Every facility record requires at least one source URL.
- The date on which content was checked appears as “Last reviewed”.
- Review text, non-public material, and assumptions are not used as evidence.
Terminology
This site primarily uses “travel dialysis” as an accessible term for dialysis received temporarily at a facility other than a patient’s usual provider during travel, a return visit, or a business trip. We may also use terms such as “temporary dialysis” when they reflect the wording used by the source medical institution. Facility-specific information follows the terminology used in official sources.
How “not confirmed” works
When a public source is silent, unclear, or insufficient, we display “Not confirmed in public information”. This does not mean unavailable. We use an explicit “not offered” state only when an official source says so.
English information
We do not use automatic translation to fill gaps in facility-specific English information. If no official English name or guidance is found, the Japanese name is shown unchanged and the Japanese official source is provided. Shared interface text is editorially translated.
Use of AI and automated processes
We may use AI or automated processes to assist with information gathering, duplicate checks, editorial organization, and translation support.
We do not finalize facility information that could affect a user’s decision—such as acceptance of travel dialysis, treatment times, costs, required documents, or language support—on the basis of AI output alone. AI is not treated as a primary source and is used only as an assistive editorial tool.
Before publication, we compare the information with reliable public sources from medical institutions, public authorities, or other appropriate organizations, and record the sources and last-reviewed date.
Verification and updates
As a baseline, information more than 180 days past its last review is presented as potentially outdated. When a change is confirmed, we update the source, date, and status.

- Confirmed by the facility: the listing was reviewed through an official facility contact channel and the confirmation date was recorded; this does not guarantee acceptance or an appointment for an individual traveler
- Information may be outdated: a change is known or sufficient time has passed since review
Visitor and travel-planning information
We use official information published by local authorities, attraction operators, or heritage custodians for names, descriptions, locations, and access. Japan Dialysis Travel Guide writes an original, concise summary of verifiable facts and identifies its sources rather than reproducing official copy.
- An attraction listing is not medical advice or a guarantee of suitability or safety for a person receiving dialysis.
- We identify planning considerations such as walking, slopes, and outdoor travel while directing users to follow individual clinical guidance on health, activity, fluids, and diet.
- We avoid definitive claims about changing details such as opening hours, closures, and transport restrictions, and link to current official information.
- A photo is used only when it depicts the stated subject and its commercial-use terms, source, creator, and licence can be recorded.
Inclusion, order, and future advertising
Inclusion is not an endorsement, accreditation, partnership, ranking, or assessment of medical quality. The MVP has no paid ranking or sponsored placement. Any future promotion will be clearly labeled.
